We will be there to pick you up at Kilimanjaro airport. After a short freshen-up we’ll begin our 2.5 hour journey to introduce you to the life of the Maasai at this ancient, mystical cultural site. We will be welcomed by the Maasai in their very special and impressive way. After some wonderful afternoon activities such as exploring the Mirror Caves, whilst trying to shoot a target with your own spear, you will retire to your basic clay house (we have added some Western essential amenities 😉 for a good nights rest.
Dinner and overnight stay: Maasai Lodge
After milking a cow, (our breakfast) we will go on a walk with a naturopathic guide and discover the medicinal plants of Maasai medicine. Here, you will gain a deep insight into the everyday life of the people.
After lunch, you will have the opportunity to dress up in authentic Maasai cloths. You will be given a traditional bucket, attached to a donkey and be sent off in search of water. You will enjoy your next glass of water with great gratitude.
In the afternoon, you and your donkey will be kitted up and released into the wilderness, setting off on your own adventure. Learn to make a fire without matches and cook your own food. You will sleep in a tent, under the African stars while a Maasai warrior watches over you.
Dinner and overnight stay: Maasai wilderness
After an early rise, you can experience the adventures of self-sufficiency again and walk to the next stop. Here, you will spend the day in the bush, making shoes from old tyres, collecting roots and herbs and making a delicious Maasai soup. To have a roof over your head, food in your stomach and a good sleep, you will have to endure a lot, but never fear, we are always close by!
Dinner and overnight stay: Boma in the Maasai area
After returning from the true wilderness, the day is completely reserved for you and your personal well-being.
Enjoy a day at the Maasai Lodge. Now you can finally enjoy the luxuries of a swimming pool, sauna, massage (extra charge) and the spectacular view of mountain Kilimanjaro.
Dinner and overnight stay: Maasai Lodge

Once at “Olpopongi”, you will have the opportunity to meet the village Chief. Enjoy a slow walk through a genuine village, with your personal Maasai guide, who will explain the past and present life of the Tanzanian Maasai.
Divulge into the culinary culture by tasting chai (tea) prepared on a wood fire followed by a tasty lunch with a variety of local fresh food.
The afternoon starts with an educational walking safari in the bush. Maasai warriors will guide you along their paths and explain typical medicinal plants, extraordinary trees, tracks and local wildlife. In addition, the use of local tools, hunting techniques and fire preparation, will be a part of your unforgettable bush excursion.
At sunset, be a part of the traditional singing & dancing performances by Maasai men and woman. Followed by a feast of a BBQ around a camp fire, where you can relax and laugh with your ‘newly found friends’.

Kate BVerified So good we want to come back again ASAP for another safari area and will definitely book with Experience Safaris. Our recent 10 day Safari truly answered any “bucket list” desires we had about experiencing Wild Africa. Reggie was with us constantly for 10 days and we came to love him in a whole new way: as a guide/protector/friend/son. He knows all the areas we visited so well that it seemed as if he put in an order for a certain animal to appear sometimes as we rounded a corner or gently drove up to a remote area that just looked like dry bush grass but lo and behold the lion cubs! We had a few unexpected adventures such as vehicle troubles, but Reggie calmly and systematically handled those issues like a true professional. With so much time together we were able to talk about just about everything from cultural differences to animal habitat. He is vastly knowledgeable about so many aspects of nature, well beyond what one might expect from a typical “let’s just see what we can find today” approach. We are so glad to have committed to the 10 day safari instead of the rush a shorter one would have been. Reggie adapted everything to our pace, which we greatly appreciated. He is a man of grace, integrity, humour and great kindness- he has the servant’s heart and no request was any problem to him. Hakuna matata was our motto. If we were to recommend one change to our long safari it would be to fly the long distances with our guide, which they can arrange. We cannot recommend Experience Safaris highly enough. Rob BlickleVerified Exceeded our bucket list expectations After a 10 day safari, I'm Reggie's biggest fan. His enthusiastic spirit is as big as the great outdoors. With his capable hands on the safari jeep's wheel, every day was truly the adventure of a lifetime. You couldn't ask for anything more on a wildlife tour in the most exciting location on the planet. I was in awe of his broad knowledge of Tanzania's flora and fauna. His deep love and respect for the people and animals of his home country is a pure pleasure to experience. Discover the heart of Africa with this dependable and enjoyable young man. Aida ZVerified Wonderful! Unforgettable !
